Getting Things Rolling
Learn the tools and techniques to get things moving to effectively manage risk.
We all manage many risks on a day-to-day basis. There is an Australian and international standard AS/NZS ISO 3100: Risk Management that provides sound guidance on how to manage risk effectively through an integrated approach. RMP’s “Getting things Rolling” walks staff through the Standard and to give them the tools and techniques you want them to have to get you rolling on your Risk Management Journey.
Course Outline
Risk management is part of good governance. It can be seen to be complicated but it simply isn’t. It is what we do every day of our personal and business lives. We consider options and the likely consequences of our decisions and take action. It takes the same thought processes to cross the road as to make a business decision.
In this course you will be introduced to what an effective risk management framework looks like and how it works. As importantly, the process of risk assessment you do every day will be broken down for you so you can apply it more formally to your key decisions.
The framework, tools and techniques you will be introduced to will provide you with a basis for managing risk in your organisation more effectively than ever before. It will also provide you with the means to demonstrate to your key stakeholders that you understand and are managing risk for the benefit of your organisation in the wider community.
Who Should Attend
Anyone with a desire to better understand the process of managing risk within an effective governance framework would benefit from RMP’s “Getting things Rolling”.

Becoming a Trusted Advisor
Influencing Skills for Governance, Risk and Compliance Professionals.
Build a stronger team of risk advisors in your organisation by growing their capacity to guide staff, peers and the C-Suite towards better decision-making with RMP’s course “Becoming a Trusted Advisor”.
Course Outline
Influencing is an art that can be learned. Becoming a trusted advisor to the Board and Executive has to be earned.
As a Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) professional you face difficulties with perceptions of our profession as being a handbrake on a progressive business or a wet blanket thrown over anyone who wants change. The same applies for all of your staff advising on any area of risk, whether IT, safety, environmental, fraud or general business risk. In this course your staff will learn how to demonstrate that GRC initiatives bring strategic processes and systems for ensuring success. They will explore the finer points of influencing and learn the code for speaking in the right language so that their message is heard and understood.
Your staff will also learn to build personal credibility with those they need to influence. As you know, their aim should be to become a trusted advisor to the C-Suite so your staff can guide and influence the whole of the organisation. Top to bottom, bottom to top, across the full breadth of staff and managerial decision-making.
Who Should Attend
The influencing skills taught in this course will assist anyone, however, they are specifically designed for staff with a Governance, Risk or Compliance role. Whether already an advisor to the CEO, a manager working towards the c-suite or a staff member charged with implementing programs widely across the organisation there are specific elements for them.
